MACHINE OF THE GODS – DEUS EX MACHINA is a visual melodrama. It examines, by means of an out-of-the-body experience, the non-gendered nature of the human psyche, the archeology of the cyborg, and the history of medical visualization.
In Machine of the Gods – Deus ex machina a soul detaches itself from its own body and sees on its journey brutally beautiful and horrifying images of being transformed into a stuffed human figure for a zoological exhibit. Then the soul encounters a goodwill ambassador from medical science, a panoptic wax figure who wakes up from eternal sleep. The soul and The Woman, who has been guiding it with her voice, are joined into a single, genderless figure. Then, the soul is compelled to return to the prison of its own body.
Stylistically, Machine of the Gods – Deus ex machina is hazily mystical, and it combines classically narrative and experimental filmic elements. An original symphonic soundtrack will be composed.
