routemaster remix project live – PROGRAMME OUTLINE

INTRO – BACTEROID (10 min)

Audience enters the darkened space. Abstract animation called Bacteroid with tension-building-up-type-of-music plays on the monitors. Greyish light spots in the space.

ROUTEMASTER – SAN FRANCISCO MIX LIVE (15 min)

Jim McKee (MIDI & ProTools) and Wieslaw Pogorzelski (electric violin & bass) perform their San Francisco Mix live in frame accurat sychronisation with the film projection. Four cameras are attached to their hands and instruments. Four operated cameras shoot long and medium long shots of the performers. Images are fed live to the monitors and projectors on the stage. Moody, blueish light set-up. 

TRANSITION – BACTEROID (2 min) 

Bacteroid plays as a video projection on the screen. Darkened space. Light spots in the space.

ROUTEMASTER – NEW YORK MIX LIVE (15 min)

Guest Artist (electric guitar & computer manipulation) premiers his New York Mix live with the film projection. Four cameras are attached to his hands, guitar and computer. Four operated cameras shoot mid and medium close-up shots of the performer. Images are fed live to the monitors and projectors on the stage. More contrasty, less blueish light set-up.

TRANSITION – BACTEROID (2 min) 

Bacteroid plays as a video projection on the screen. Darkened space. Contrasty light spots in the space.

ROUTEMASTER – TOKYO MIX LIVE (15 min)

Merzbow (hard & software, mixer, CD-player, CD-Rs) plays his Tokyo Mix live with the film projection. Four cameras are attached to his hands, computer and mixer. Four operated cameras shoot close-up and big close-up shots of the performer. Images are fed live to the monitors and projectors on the stage. Hard contrasty, white light set-up.

THE END (2 min)

Darkened space. Applause.

ENCORE (15 min)

Jim McKee (MIDI & ProTools), Wieslaw Pogorzelski (electric violin & bass), Guest Artist (electric guitar & computer manipulation) and Merzbow (hard & software, mixer, CD-player, CD-Rs) do their first-ever live duo performance. Four cameras are attached to their hands and instruments. Four operated cameras shoot multiple size shots the performers. Images are fed live to the monitors and projectors on the stage. White light set-up.
